Mid Death Crisis is a game where I was able to branch out and work on my UI skills. I worked very closely with a designer and artist to develop some functional and visually pleasing user interfaces and menus.

I worked with our UI Designer and UI Artist to implement the required functionality for our character and loadout select system using the widget system in Unreal Engine 5.
I created an ability wheel widget that could be used in many parts of the game, from the one you use to redirect the spell on your turn to the loadout select menu to the pause menu. I made sure to make it modular to be able to change the size of it and to include the pointer arrow when needed or not.
The gameplay HUD contains all the information that the UI Designer deemed useful to have at a quick glance such as Zeb's HP, stamina consumption, and ability cooldowns. I'm especially proud of the placement of the ability icons because I used simple trigonometry to space them out on an arc. Just like the ability wheel, the ability icons are also widgets that are used elsewhere in the game.
